Toy Soldier #2
Publisher: Self-Published
Release Date: February 29, 2016
Genre: Science Fiction, Military, Dark Erotica

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The White House has ordered the execution of a highly sensitive covert operation in dragon-occupied territory. Though a Slash Op has a zero percent survival rate, the commanding general is forced to enlist his most prized officer for the task.

Major Gideon is embarking on his first mission in the dragon district. Yet Gideon has hardly recovered from all that Drago made him endure. For the past three months, Gideon has been plagued with dreams of Drago terrorizing him, but his dreams have gradually turned into sexual fantasies. Despite coming to terms with his longing to have Drago in bed, Gideon cannot suppress his desire to beat Drago’s face in. When Gideon is called for a mission in the most dangerous district on Earth, what freaks him out the most is the prospect of seeing Drago again.

Content Advisory: Graphic violence, dragon sex, & non-con.

This is more a combined review as I read book 1 & 2 back to back. If you haven’t gotten Drago Star make sure you read that first. This won’t make sense unless you do. And trust me, you both want to read it and for it to make sense.

Next is my warning: If you’re read Drago Star you already know what I’m about to say. Actually, this is more of a reminder than a warning, because if you didn’t like dark, non-mainstream, alternative things, you wouldn’t be on this page.

Warning:Darkness lurks in these pages. This is not your flowers and rainbows. This is people giving you the side eye for liking it. Ignore their side eye and float on. There is non-consensual BDSM sex, graphic violence and if you squint you might be able to see romance in the far distance. 😀 Ok, that was mean. There is romance and a HFN in Slash Op.

I’m just going to count this up and try not to give spoilers:
1. Dragons – ’nuff said
2. Gideon – Strong, smart, works well under pressure, but seriously needs to learn to read contracts.
3. Drago – The complexity of this man, and the interactions with this man, is too much to get into without giving things away.
4. Dragons – Did you hear me sing it that time?
5. World building – It’s subtle(?) It’s there, not overpowering and just enough to get you in the story. Which is perfect because anything else would draw away from the characters.
6. Limited Femdom – Not pure M/M scenes, particularly in book 1. Just because it’s there doesn’t mean run away. It only adds to the story. And I loved it.
7. One more time for the people in the back – DRAGONS!!!!!
